...and on the 7th day, I'm waiting for the 7th bangle

I've been having a love affair with bangles ever since I plucked up the courage to try the Trollbeads bangle.

Trollbeads Carved Amber with the first Trollbeads Day beads
on the silver bangle

I've never really worn bangles much before this, the odd cuff that could be bent to my super small wrists, or perhaps the 80's fashion of multiple stacked metal bangles but generally bangles don't suit me.

Then there was an oval shaped one that did, and the rest is history.

3 silver bangles with Summer Stones

Very quickly I acquired 3 silver ones, who doesn't like to stack?

Rebeligion Skulls, X Jewellery and 2 silver bangles

Then came the copper version... Then the twisted silver and copper versions, add to this copper and dark oxidised stoppers followed by decorative stoppers and I barely wear anything else.

Copper, silver twisted and silver bangles

So what is the 7th bangle?

Well you'll just have to wait as although I'm camped by the letterbox it hasn't arrived yet...

Do you stack your jewellery?
Is it piled high, or artfully aranged in it's simplicity?

Back from holiday & new adventures!

Hello everyone, it feels like such a long time since I last sat down to write a post; given that my Post Card #Flashback series had to be finished before I went away, I guess it technically has been quite a while!

So how is everyone?

Unlike my previous holiday the weather this time was glorious, if you follow my Twitter or Facebook Page you would have seen the lovely blue skies and scenery I posted whilst I was away, I came back so relaxed I could barely remember my name.

I love to stop and stare at scenery and was often late meeting friends and family because I was lost in the glory of such lovely light!  As usual these were all taken on my phone, so I can only begin to imagine how they would have turned out had I taken a camera!

What did I take with me to wear in such a lovely place?  Well as regular readers will know I tend to travel quite light jewellery wise when I'm away.

Two necklaces, Trollbeads Naughty Dragon on a Trollbeads silver chain and a Green Amber pendant on a Trollbeads black leather necklace.  Neither of which had much wear after Day 2 as even with Factor 30 and shade, I was still tinged a pale pink in my neck area!

Bracelet wise I took 2 Trollbeads bangles, one red themed and one Onyx & Labradorite, my Rebeligion Skulls Bracelet and my Links of London Skulls Bracelet.

Ever one to mix and match I moved Naughty Dragon onto my bangle one night!  Excuse the different tones on the photos, although as you can see I'm sporting my new favourite polka dot dress in both pics!

I'm curious, what jewellery do you take away on holiday with you?
A few favourite pieces? Something for every outfit? Nothing at all?
Hit the comments and share all!

I'm back home now and whereas I would usually be suffering from post holiday/back to work blues... I am already planning my next adventure... I've bought a bus!

Y is for Yardarm

Yippee the end is almost in sight!  I hope you're not yawning or wishing it was still yesterday, but instead yearning to find out what today is all about?

Yes?  Well I'll crack on then!

Yardarm refers the horizontal parts of a sailing ship's mast... but naturally I'm blogging about the phrase "Sun is over the yardarm" referring in modern parlance to when it's acceptable to have an alcoholic drink.

It's become a bit of a tradition when out and about, or indeed indoors, to take photos of bracelets with the alcoholic drink of choice.  It started out as a bit of fun between two friends one day, but it has since turned into a bit of an ongoing tradition between a group of us.  These are some of the photos that don't always make it onto the blog, although most of them did, which I'm going to share today... you can see I also do it with tea and coffee too!  I should have turned this into a blog photo treasure hunt with a prize... oh sod that I'm too tired!

Although one has to note there is only 1 tea and 1 coffee pic in there... Health and Safety y'see,  yes that's the reason... tea and coffee are hot, hence my risk assessment that it's safer to take pics of beads with cold drinks, hic!

I thought this was a fitting topic for Y especially, as tomorrow marks the end of the Challenge and when I was asked at the start, "What I would do to celebrate finishing the A to Z Challenge?", my reply was:

...with whatever I can lay my hands on that pours into a glass! #AZchat

So just one more letter to go; Z finishes off both the alphabet and the challenge tomorrow.

For the participating bloggers who visit today; I ask the same question to you... what will you do to celebrate finishing the challenge?

For supporters of the challenge; what will you do on Thursday?

P.S. my answer would have to change slightly if asked today... as it would be ...crack on with the next one!  Blogging Hull Fashion Week!  I might have to postpone that drink until after the weekend!

R is for Rebeligion

I had to wait a long time for this bracelet by Rebeligion.

Originally because I was being good by not starting any new brands - the longest wait... then, once I'd decided to take the plunge, the leather bracelet, the shutter and my first skull were ALL out of stock - the "I don't believe it" wait.  A 2 week wait was estimated; in the meantime I got bored waiting so I ordered the other 2 skulls for this bracelet.  Did I mention waiting is not my strong point?

Now I had 2 charms and no bracelet to put them on... 2 weeks turned into 3 weeks, which in turn turned into 4 weeks and finally the rest of the bracelet arrived.

Then there was the assemblage, some of this was quite hard as my newest skull was a wee bit tight (no make and break with this bracelet) but skulls 2 & 3 slipped on just lovely... and VOILA... my first Rebeligion True Silver bracelet with See No, Hear No, Speak No Skulls and Shutter.

...actually that's with a skull shutter!

I've been keen to try Rebeligion for quite a while now; the first time I saw the See No, Hear No, Speak No Evil Skulls - I knew this would be the perfect bracelet for me.

What have you waited for that has taken a long time?
