Glitter & Leaf, Sparkle & Earth, Troll & Elf Beads

I buy very few full kits of beads by any brand, but there are always a few exceptions, Rocky Beach Kit by Trollbeads was one of my first and the silver half of OHM's Rawr Collection is one of my most spectacular, but today I'm looking at 2 different glass kits from Trollbeads and Elfbeads.

The Sparkle Kit from Trollbeads was released as part of the Spring 2014 Collection, and whilst I've used the beads individually I always wanted to do something "more" with them.

Another set of beads, which aren't actually a kit as such, but which I do have all the variations are the Earth Beads from Elfbeads, I've always thought they would play well with the Sparkle Kit but I've never been able to manage anything I wanted to blog about before.

I started off making a bracelet with lots of Dragon Beads, but whilst it was fun - it didn't quite do it for me, so  I set that one aside and took away all the dragon beads.  I still wanted to try and do something with the two kits, so undeterred, I had another go!

Chinese Silvers 2009 with Sparkle & Earth Beads

All I did was add a different set of silvers and tweak the colour mix... this brings a completely different vibe to my Chinese Silvers Bracelet, it's much softer than the turquoise agates I'd been using previously and I really like the mix of gold glitter and leaf with the silver beads.

What do you think?

  1. I can remember your post about about the elf earth beads because I thought at the time it would be impossible to choose a favourite as I'd covert them all!! And now you have created an absolutely amazing bracelet that I totally want but I can imagine I'd just be mesmorized by and wouldn't do any work at all if it was on my wrist because I'd just keep gazing at it!! I totally love it :)

    1. It's such a pretty bracelet, I don't normally do such soft colours through the whole bracelet but I adore this one!

The Earth Beads are such a great choice for this as they still have some very rich colours, but the transparency and the gold really soften it the look. They have got to be one of my favourite non-sets :)

  2. That is fab - the glitter and gold play so nicely with each other, complimenting one another while adding their own element to the bracelet :)

And the silvers, well you just can't go wrong with that set! ;)

    1. Lol I might have to take that as a challenge, to try and make a hideous combo with the Chinese Silvers ;) They are so incredibly lovely, I'm still as completely smitten as I was when I first saw a photo of them when I started collecting and realised I'd missed the boat!

I really really really like this bracelet, I must find out who sells the gold glitter that's not either yellow, or the flake stuff (which is lovely) but the glittery glitter :)
