Trollbeads ~ Lotus Top Fantasy Necklace

Having made my delicious new bracelet featuring the Bats lock and charm I was on a roll... next up was Trollbeads Lotus Top from the new 2014 Fall Collection.

Both sides of Trollbeads Lotus Top

Again Lotus Top was on my wish list from the start, it's designed to cup a bead snugly on one side, so it has a front or top to the bead and conversely a back or bottom side.  Of course I wanted two of them; however budget constraints led to buying one for now and I was keen to use it in a combination.

I always thought it would make a lovely end cap, top or bottom, for the Fantasy Necklaces as it mirrors the design on the top of the Onyx Drop, which is how I've decided to use it on it's first outing.

Having made two new bracelets (yes there's another one still to come) I wanted a necklace that would compliment these and fit in with my "nod to Halloween" theme; which is really just an Autumnal theme but shhhh don't tell anyone!

The obvious choice of silver pendant was the amazing Trolltree, paired with the lovely Saffron Facet beads from the 2013 Fall Collection from Trollbeads.  Simple but very effective!

I love this necklace and despite having had these two beads for over a year I've never worn them with my Trolltree pendant before - I bought two each of both the Saffron and the Masala Facets from the 2013 Fall Collection and they've been used extensively ever since.

  1. Awesome combo! The Lotus top really does look like it's meant to go with that necklace. I'm excited to see what else you still have coming, as I've been back several times over the last week to look at your bracelet again and again!

I put together a bit of a Halloween bracelet, but I'm in love with my Autumn bracelet right now so it seems to be the one that I reach for in the morning.

I'm not sure if I could choose a favourite. However, my baby dragon on my black leather is one of the bracelets that has been together for at least a year now (if not more) and is a staple in my wardrobe.

    1. Thanks Tracy! I must admit I'm totally smitten with both, I can't quite believe how well the bracelet turned out in the end given how many remakes it went through! Shows it's sometimes worth persevering with, except with the designs that end up getting "overcooked" of course, this combo was more my souffle... hmmm hungry now for some reason?

I love your baby dragon on your black leather bracelet, that is one of my faves! Mine's back in the bead box at the moment, shame on me!

  2. Squee!! Absolutely love this combo. I wish I had more Halloween-y beads!

As for Best buys... hmm... hard to say still. Time will tell I guess. Problem is I've fallen in the trap of sales, and so I've been rotating beads... lol. Just bought another trio from the Goldmine closeout. ::Hangs head in shame:: no self control sometimes.

    1. Hiya, thank you! My forray into orange has been a recent thing after "hating" orange beads but I've done a complete 360 on that one! Always loved my greens! (Beads and veg... I really think I need to go eat something).

I've been indulging in the Goldmine TB liquidation, looking forward to carrying on shopping with them though when they relaunch, as they'll be stocking beads I like to buy! In fact a package arrived from them today, well ahead of when I was expecting it as it came through this end a lot faster than usual! So unexpected bead bonus today!

  3. Hello,
Dear Mars... I follow every post you make, but too busy to answer... as I usually come on Internet at work (before I start at 7:30am)
But I wanted to say how clever I found your way to wear the Lotus bead on your necklace... and even if in France Halloween is not popular at all I love your bracelet
I am trying to make a special blet "The Hobbit" and think to use orange beads together with green and maybe yellow... It ll take ages... as you know we have no many retailers here... and the one I love never get any uniques :(

    1. Hi Pat, thanks so much for stopping by, I know you're really busy, hope it's all going well!

Thanks for the comment, I quite like a "finishing" bead above the dangle on the FN in a design so the Lotus Top just seemed perfect, I couldn't believe my luck when I saw the stock photo!

I'd love a second so I can "cap" a bead on a bangle or bracelet but I'm going to have to wait before I can indulge my next one as I'm busy buying for a couple of a projects I want to finish. Too many beads and not enough money!

It must be quite difficult to get the right uniques for your Hobbit bracelet with a lack of retailers and not too much time to internet shop for uniques.

If you see any you like, you'll have to let us know so we can keep an eye out for others for you!

      Take care

    1. Lol copy away Marie! It's a fabulous bead for the Onyx FN!

(The pearl FB has a more fluted top to it but the Onyx is a perfect match)

I like using beads as a platform or end when I do FN, I like the look it gives them. Do let us know how it goes, it's always good to hear about everyone is wearing their necklaces.
